This campaign is to encourage people to plant trees and to change their habits so that they are using fewer products that lead to deforestation taking place. Our mission is to plant 1 million trees to help the environment.

PROBLEM!

Deforestation is occurring at an alarming rate worldwide, with the majority of it happening in the Amazon Rainforest. According to the World Bank data, between 1990 and 2016, the world lost the world has lost 1.3 million square kilometers of forest area, which includes a 17 % reduction in the Amazon forest area.
Deforestation happens for numerous reasons including, mining, paper production, cattle farming, and urbanization.

Why do we need trees?

We need trees for a number of different reasons, mainly for their ability to clean the air that we breathe, but also as an increase in trees would help mitigate the Greenhouse effect. A study by Swiss scientists has found that forest restoration is the most effective solution to climate change and that there is potential for an extra 900 million hectares of land that could be used for afforestation. Once these trees have grown, they could potentially absorb 205 billion tonnes of carbon produced by numerous human activities.

SOLUTION!

Our solution to this issue is to encourage people to plant trees and to change their habits so that they are using fewer products that lead to deforestation taking place. We have a group of volunteers who make it their mission to plant as many trees as possible so that they are able to increase the positive impacts they have on the world.
