    WHAT IS
    ORGANIC?

Organic products are those which are grown and produced without the use of synthetic pesticides, bioengineered genes, petroleum-based fertilizers, and sewage sludge-based fertilizers. The majority of food now is filled with chemical fertilizers and potentially harmful substances which cause problems not only for our health but the health of animals and the environment.

    WHY
    ORGRANIC?

Organic products don’t only have benefits for individuals, as there are fewer chemicals that are going into the food that you consume, which reduces the negative health impacts.

They also positively impact the environment as no pesticides or chemicals are used during their production. These chemicals can lead to rivers and lakes becoming polluted, and many wildlife cannot survive in the water. Also, the chemicals used growing non-organic produce can cause the soil to become unhealthy, and other plants will be unable to grow in it afterward.

Therefore, choosing organic produce has both positive impacts on the individuals consuming them, wildlife and the environment.

If 10,000 medium-sized farms decided to switch their agricultural methods to being organic. It would be the equivalent of 1,174,400 cars coming off the road.

    WHAT CAN
    YOU DO?

So far, the result of this campaign was 4800 people and 26 organizations pledging themselves to go organic. You can join them by signing our ‘Go Organic’ pledge below.
